Lightbridge's Authorize.Net Partners with Infinite Peripherals on New Mobile Payment Solution
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 2004--Lightbridge, Inc. (Nasdaq:LTBG), a leading provider of technology solutions that manage customer transactions and the parent company of Authorize.Net, and Infinite Peripherals, a leading provider of handheld mobile solutions, today announced a partnership to bring full-service wireless payment processing to the mobile marketplace via the Authorize.Net Payment Gateway.
This partnership will enable merchants with an Authorize.Net Payment Gateway account to process credit card transactions initiated through a PDA or Smart Phone and Infinite Peripherals' hardware payment solution. This combination creates a convenient, flexible, and secure payment solution for mobile merchants who otherwise would not be able to process credit card transactions.
"We are very excited to partner with Infinite Peripherals to bring this new mobile solution to our resellers and merchants," said Prakash Kondepudi, executive vice president, Lightbridge's Authorize.Net Business Unit. "Now, merchants can connect to the Authorize.Net Payment Gateway regardless of location, creating additional opportunities to drive sales and grow their businesses."
The distribution of this combined mobile payment solution will be handled by Authorize.Net resellers. The solution is being demonstrated by both companies at the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Annual Meeting and Expo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, April 21 and 22.
"This technology opens the door for merchants with mobile sales teams or non-traditional storefronts to expand their business and increase revenue by accepting more payment types from consumers," said Jeff Scott, director of marketing and sales for Infinite Peripherals. "We anticipate the opportunities for this technology to grow as businesses and consumers embrace the convenience and security of mobile transactions. Merchants will appreciate the ability to use their PDA or Smart Phone to process secure mobile transactions."
