NOTICE OF RACE TORONTO NOOD REGATTA

Sailing World National Offshore One Design Regatta
Royal Canadian Yacht Club June 25-27

Sailing World is the Organizing Authority for this regatta and the Royal Canadian Yacht Club is the Host Club. RCYC and National Yacht Club will provide race management. Please note that Registration, Section 4 of this NOR, will take place at the National Yacht Club, 1 Stadium Road, Toronto, ON M5V 3H4. Functions and regatta management operations will take place at both the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, Island Club House (RCYC Boat Launch/Ferry Dock) 263 Queen's Quay E, Toronto, ON M5V 3H4 and the National Yacht Club (address listed above).

1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing. Classes permitting Category C Advertising (see RRS Appendix 1) are urged to refrain from displaying advertisements for businesses or products competing with those of the primary and support sponsors of the event.

2. Eligibility
2.1 The regatta is open to any boat with a minimum LOA of 20 feet, that has sleeping accommodations below decks or is either: a) an active member of a recognized class association for entry in this regatta's One-Design classes, or; b) a boat that meets the criteria established for this regatta for entry in a level class; and provided that each class has a minimum entry of six boats. Boats entered in the event that have a valid Area PHRF Rating and are not entered in a one-design class, shall be assigned to classes that will race level. The composition of these Level Classes shall be at the discretion of the Organizing Authority, with the assistance of the RCYC Race Committee. Entries with PHRF ratings in excess of 174 shall not be accepted for entry into Level Classes. All decisions made by the Organizing Authority regarding Level Class assignments and entries shall be final. The Organizing Authority reserves the right to invite additional classes that do not meet all the requirements.
2.2 The NOOD Regattas are open to those boats whose Owner and/or Skipper is a current member of their National Governing Body.
2.3 Easily removable bow stickers shall be attached to the forward 25% of both sides of the boat's hull at all times while racing. The stickers are to be carried with the top approximately 6"-10" below deck level and with the leading edge approximately 10"-20" aft of the bow. Bow stickers will be provided in the Skipper's package.

3. Entries
Entries shall be submitted on the official entry form. Classes shall meet eligibility requirements no later than June 14. Completed entry forms, with the entry fee, shall be mailed to Sailing World NOOD REGATTA, c/o Sailing World, 5 John Clarke Road, PO Box 3400, Newport, RI 02840-0992 USA or fax 401/845-5180. Late entries may be accepted solely at the discretion of Sailing World and the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

Social tickets - Advance purchase $37.00US with entry only
Social tickets include dinner/beverages for Friday & Saturday. Light dinner/beverages for Sunday.
Tickets will be $50CAN at the door.
Payment for entry fee and advance purchase of social tickets must be made with credit card, money order or check drawn on US bank.
NO CANADIAN CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

4. Registration
Each boat owner or his representative must report to the National Yacht Club, between 5:00 and 7:30 Thursday, June 24 to complete registration.
The skippers' meeting will be held Thursday, June 24 at 7:00 at the National Yacht Club.
Crew lists and waivers of liability must be submitted by close of registration. No boat will be registered without a completed waiver form. In the event of a crew member substitution during the regatta, the new crew member must submit a signed waiver of liability to the Race Committee prior to racing for that boat's entry to remain valid. Sailing instructions will be available at registration. Amendments to the Sailing Instructions will be posted at both the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and National Yacht Club, by 1000hrs daily. It is the responsibility of each competitor to check the Official Notice Board(s) for any amendments or other notices.

5. Courses
Courses will be set south or southwest of Toronto Islands. Number of courses, specific area locations will be provided in the Sailing Instructions and circle assignments remain subject to the entries received.

6. Schedule of Races
It is the intent of the Organizing Authority and the Race Committee to run as many races as practical on Friday thru Sunday, June 25 - 27. The warning signal each day will be 1100hrs. No Warning Signal will be made after 14:30 on the last day, Sunday June 27.

7. Measurement/Weigh-in
Measurement is not required, but each boat shall submit proof of holding a valid measurement certificate at registration if required by the class.
Neither the Organizing Authority nor the RCYC shall be responsible for conducting or administrating weigh-ins should they be required by individual class rules. Local or national class associations shall be responsible for conducting weigh-ins if needed.

8. Scoring
The Low-Point Scoring System, RRS Appendix A will apply. Each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races, amends RRS A2. One race will constitute a series.

9. Arbitration
For protests involving an infringement of a Rule of Part 2 of the RRS, an Arbitration hearing may be held prior to the protest hearing.

10. Prizes
Daily and series prizes will be awarded by class (number will depend on number of class entries).

11. Berthing
Boats shall be moored, free of charge, for the regatta, at either the National Yacht Club or the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Fleet designation to each club will be posted on the NOOD website ( www.sailingworld.com ) no later then April 1, 2004.

12. Launching
All boats under 6,000lbs will be launched, free of charge, from either RCYC or NYC depending on fleet designations. This information will be made available on the website as of April 5, 2004.

For boats over 6,000 lbs. launching arrangements can be made through the Port Credit Yacht Club at a cost of $5.00(CAN) per foot length of boat and $1.75(CAN) per foot on length of mast. 13. Photographers and TV Rights
Competitors give absolute right and permission for any photographs or video footage taken of themselves or their competing boat to be published in any media whatsoever; for either editorial or advertising purposes, or to be used in press information.
