CCA Florida Announces 2001Legislative Conservation Awards

The Coastal Conservation Association of Florida has selected six state legislators to receive Legislative Conservation Awards in recognition of their support for marine fisheries conservation issues during the 2001 Legislative session.

$3.8 million for 25 new Fish and Wildlife enforcement officers and the vehicles, boats and equipment for the officers.

He indicated that FWC enforcement resources are stretched thin with responsibilities for boating safety, manatee speed zones and fisheries enforcement. The 25 new officers represent the first time in more than 10 years that additional officers have been added for marine resource enforcement.
