HP Reclaims No. 1 Notebook
Market Share Worldwide
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 1, 2005 -- HP has reclaimed the leadership
position in the worldwide notebook PC market, according to an
International Data Corporation (IDC) report released Feb. 28,
2005.(1) HP recaptured the top spot for notebooks with 15.6 percent
market share.
HP's unit shipments for the notebook segment worldwide grew nearly
21 percent quarter over quarter, almost 1.4 times the industry
growth rate, according to the analyst firm's fourth quarter
analysis. Additionally, the company's quarter-over-quarter growth
rate was more than five times its nearest competitor's.
