Climate change targets to increase energy
bills
The government s efforts to reach its targets on
tackling climate change are expected to lead to a rise in
energy bills, according to a new report. Research by
professional services firm Ernst Young found that
household and commercial electricity costs may
rise by 20 per cent as Westminster attempts to cut emissions in
the UK. It is predicted that such an increase will equate to a
213 increase on the annual cost of energy. credit security service union
However, the study also found that over 60 per cent of the
public claim they are not prepared to pay more on their bills.
Simon Harvey, who co-authored the report, said: The
average consumer does not appear to realise that this
additional cost is going to hit their wallets. There
seems to be a worrying degree of apathy among consumers to
reduce energy consumption, despite daily headlines about rising
fuel bills. credit report service

company Centrica claimed that energy prices have to rise

Carbon Trust announces data centre software plans
The Carbon Trust has announced plans to work on new software
designed to help businesses consider their energy consumption.
Working in partnership with the British Computer Society, the
organisation is to develop the program to help
commercial electricity users reduce the carbon
emissions of their data centres. According to the company, such
centres produce around 25 per cent of all IT-related
emissions. christian counseling credit

to enable companies to identify the right steps to take to
reduce energy use and carbon, he added. Last week, the

Government outlines plans to increase renewable energy
The government has announced new plans to increase the
amount of renewable energy produced for use by homes and
businesses in the UK. Business secretary John Hutton revealed
the measures, which include the introduction of a new financial
incentive system to encourage domestic and commercial
electricity users to generate green energy. Financial
support for those planning to install microgeneration
technology at their homes or offices has also been proposed,
with incentives coming through a feed-in tariff. credit division service
Discussing the new strategy, Mr Hutton said the expansion of
renewable energy is an important moment in the
UK s efforts to introduce new low carbon technologies. He
added: We must make the most rapid progress possible to
becoming a cleaner, greener economy and we will strive to make
these changes in the most effective way possible, with the
least cost to consumers. Earlier this week, the Carbon
Trust launched a new standard which will be awarded to
organisations that have made a year-on-year effort to improve

The cost of running a home of business has increased over
the last two years highlighting the need to shop around for

findings come at a time when some of the largest energy

The UK is to turn to woodfuel in the fight against climate

environment, food and rural affairs will support woodfuel
schemes to boost energy efficiency and to help
cut greenhouse gasses. An extra two million tonnes of wood a
year will be used to combat climate change by fuelling around
250, 000 homes and cutting carbon emissions by 400, 000
tonnes. card citibank credit customer
During a visit to a woodfuel scheme in Bristol today, Barry
Gardiner said: Using wood instead of fossil fuels means
that sustainably managed woodland can be a significant resource
for a low-carbon economy. Producing fuel from timber taken from
well-managed woodlands benefits wildlife too. bad credit repair service
Stimulating the woodfuel market is good for jobs too,
and this new strategy gives people the tools to realise the
broad range of benefits that woodfuel has to offer. Government,
business, communities and local authorities can together make

Burning woodfuel is thought to boost both climate change
prevention initiatives and energy efficiency because the carbon
released as wood burns is reabsorbed by growing more trees. budget counseling credit
