Norwegian programme for Winter 2006/7. It lies on the edge of the
beautiful Jotunheimen National Park and is a compact, friendly ski
resort with a choice of accommodation situated around the ski base,
literally metres away from the slopes and resort facilities. The
ski area has an
excellent snow record (from
November to May) and offers gentle, uncrowded slopes ideally suited
to beginners and families who l benefit from learning in a safe,
confidence-building environment.
There is a good choice of
other winter activities
such as dog sledding and snowmobiling on offer, plus organised
family-orientated activities everyday from 3pm so even the smallest

The perfect place to learn, the ski school, and Jonas in particular
were great, and had two complete beginners skiing in knee deep
powder by day 5.
Jacek the rep did a brilliant job making sure the holiday ran
smoothly, from sorting out the ski fitting to booking us on a husky
sled trip! While on the expensive side when in resort, eating and
drinking out, its not too expensive in the supermarket, and when
you do venture out Peppes Pizza is possibly the best in Europe! The
large really is large, and more then enough for two people,
including lunch the next day!
So if your looking to go somewhere to learn you can do alot worse
than Beitostolen! Thanks Neilson for a great first ski holiday, I
doubt it will be our last. To leave a review of this page you'll

guests many of whom return year after year. Poiana Brasov has been
carefully developed retaining its cultural uniqueness and
maintaining its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Set amidst the
beautiful pine forests of the Carpathian mountains, the
purpose-built resort of Poiana Brasov has a compact lift system and
offers an excellent range of skiing, particularly suited to
beginners, and offers excellent value for money. Nursery slopes are
situated in the village and on the plateau at the top of the
mountain. The ski area offers easy progression to the main pistes
with the added advantage of skiing back to the village on a long
blue run. For non-skiers there is a great range of activities and
excursions available, not to mention the legendary Dracula castle.

Information
Money Money should be taken in Sterling cash to
change in resort to local currency. The notes should be new and in
good condition as old, torn or defaced notes are not accepted.
Credit cards are rarely accepted although there are numerous cash
points where funds can be drawn (3% commission charge in 2005/06).
Travellers Cheques and Eurocheques cannot be changed in resort,
purchases in bars, restaurants and shops should all be made in
local currency as credit card transactions are made in US$ and
commission can be expensive.
Pre-Bookable Ski
Packs
Because of the volatile nature of the Eastern European money
market, we cannot guarantee the rates paid in resort for ski packs.
We therefore strongly recommend that you pre-book ski school, lift
passes and Skiers/Snowboarder's packages, as well as any equipment
hire you may require. Packs cannot be sold in resort at UK prices.
Visas Visas are not required for holders of full
UK passport. Holders of other passports must enquire at the
Consular Department of the Romanian Embassy for their requirements
before booking, tel 0207 937 9666.

No As the first windsurf centre in
Vassiliki, we have indisputably, the best spot on the bay. The
Neilson centre is based a mile away from Vassiliki village at the
windward end of the bay, giving the longest sailing hours, clean
winds and flat water, whilst the beach's gently shelving, sandy
bottom provides the best launching conditions. If you want to learn
to windsurf then don't let Vassiliki's reputation put you off, as
the morning breeze is always gentle. However, when 'Eric',
Vassiliki's famous thermal wind, kicks in for the afternoon,
experts can choose from the impressive array of high-performance
kit.
The picturesque harbour becomes the social focus by night with the
harbour lights attracting the island visitors, many of whom arrive
by yacht. The surrounding busy bars and tavernas offer a choice of
Greek as well as European menus and as 'Vass' is so popular with
windsurfers from across Europe, there is always a party going on
somewhere!

Peloponnese is a fertile farming area blessed with fantastic long,
wide, sandy beaches. With stunning unspoilt scenery, warm Greek
hospitality and a very slow pace of life, Finikounda is the place
to go for a sociable and very relaxing holiday.
Finikounda is a paradise for intermediate windsurfers and offers
some fabulous dinghy sailing to remote, sheltered bays along the
coastline. The mountain biking is great, with intermediate riders
in particular enjoying the rolling green hills.
Nightlife revolves around the excellent tavernas, all huddled
together by the harbour and serving delicious fresh food and the
day's catch. There are a handful of welcoming bars and cafes
offering everything from loud dance music to traditional bouzouki.
It's been a long time coming but our favourite Greek village now
has credit card facilities at the hotel. If you are planning a trip
to 'Fini' this season you can now run up a room tab for any drinks
and meals at the Beach Hotel and pay with plastic at the end of
your holiday. For any nights out in the village, there is one
fairly reliable cash machine and credit cards are still pretty much
a novelty. If this cash machine is not working, the next nearest is
about 15 minutes drive away in the town of Methoni, so it might be
a good idea to bring some cash with you.

"Minimal queuing and fast hi tech
lifts ensure you get to explore the area to the fullest
extent
" Combining a perfect mix of old and new, La
Thuile is placed just off the Valle d ]osta on the border with
France and over the hill from its neighbour the French resort of La
Rosiere. Still largely undiscovered by the British skier the resort
is split between the traditional mountain village and the modern
Planibel ski complex.
The sizeable 150km ski area, famed for its minimal queueing and
fast hi tech lift system ensuring you get to explore the area to
its fullest extent. There also the opportunity to ski over the
border, giving you the chance to ski two countries on the same day.
This ski area really can be all things to all skiers, with a high
quality ski school, a range of nursery, intermediate and advanced
runs as well as heliskiing available to the brave.
The old town, just a short walk from the slopes offers a cosy mix
of restaurants and bars ensuring your meals will be as satisfying
as the skiing.
