Re: drive other cars, insurance policy help

Read your policy. It will probably cover you to drive other cars that don t belong to you but you must have the owner s permission and the owner must have an insurance policy. Most policies include this cover. credit public service union

telford:

Not quite sure what the big fuss is RE: driving other cars. It is designed for emergency use only. You will not be able to use the extension as you freely think you are able to. You will also find this benefit gradually being taken off the shelf over the forthcoming year, and next year. Thu, Feb 28 2008, 4:27 PM card credit processing service

Hi Telford, Usually at age 21 you wont have driving other cars. Check your certificate of insurance. It will not tell you if you are covered but will tell you if you are not. It will say something like This policy excludes driving other cars If in doubt - phone your insurer. center credit service union

They are sold at 5.99 each for the cheapest found. Obviously those lights are usually set in group ! So, I will basically need 67 bulbs !!!!! which can be quite pricy ! Any help to where to find those cheap GU10 low energy would be much appreciated. credit federal service union

This supplier on ebay sells GUI0 energy savers made by Lumineux which are a good make, he did me a great deal on eight bulbs. They are currently selling lots of 5 for total 24.00 inc p p thats 4.60 each, but if you email them for a quote for a bigger order that price will get cheaper the more bulbs you buy at once. And let me re-assure you they are respectable dealers and replace any faulty bulbs straight away. I have not been able to find them cheaper than that. consumer counseling credit inc

If your wanting low energy GU10 bulbs try this link - http://www.yourwelcome.co.uk/acatalog/GU10_Low_Energy.html they sell LED GU10 bulbs and offer a 20% discount for bulk purchases However you look at it, it s going to be costly replacing all your GU10 s. If you are thinking of replacing 12v units (Low Voltage) you might want to think again. Most 12v systems are regarded as Energy Saving. DAVE Fri, Jun 08 2007, 3:28 AM credit federal first service

Alternatively, if you would like a card to spend on, the Halifax One Online Special has a 12 month interest free period on both purchases and balance transfers. After a year, the rate of interest increases to the standard rate which is 15.9%. The transfer fee on this card is 3%. center credit family service

If you have a good credit score and pay off your balance each month:

Clearing your balance in full each month means you will not pay any interest, so rather than going for the card with the lowest rate, look for one that offers a loyalty scheme such as reward points or cashback. There are a host of excellent cashback deals on the market but my pick of the bunch is the American Express Platinum which offers 5% money back on purchases up to 4, 000 for the first three months. You then earn 0.5% on the next 3, 000 you spend on the card, rising to 1% on spending between 3, 001 and 10, 000 and 1.5% if you spend more than 10, 000. credit reporting service

If this card doesn t appeal to you, then check out our credit card comparison tool as there are numerous deals available offering cashback on everything from fuel to supermarket spend. cca credit division service

If you have an adverse credit score:

There are still options open to you, even if you have a poor credit score. However, if you are in this position, you need to be very careful about what you apply for - you will not be accepted for the market-leading deals, so don t even bother trying to get them as failed applications will do nothing to help your credit score. Our Smart Search tool will give you a clearer idea of the deals that are available to you. It enables you to enter a few details about your credit history. Based on this information, moneysupermarket.com will display cards that you are most likely to qualify for, reducing the risk of you not being accepted for the card. credit free report service

The interest rate you are offered will be higher than average, but if you use the card well and stay within your credit limit, it should help improve your credit rating, making it easier for you to get a more competitive deal further down the line. card credit customer discover

One of the best cards on the market for those with less than perfect credit scores, is the Barclaycard Initial, which offers a typical rate of interest of 27.9%. Think carefully about the card you choose and become a smart shopper - both with the credit card you pick and how you use it. credit repair report service

Head of Cards credit legal repair service

Moneysupermarket.com editor Clare Francis talks about credit cards and how customers are at risk of being caught out by complicated repayment systems... How to play your cards right - payment allocations explained Clare Francis,

Site Editor There are some great credit card deals available. However, unwary consumers are at risk of being caught out by the complicated repayment system most card providers use. There are three main ways to use a credit card: for spending; transferring a debt over from another car and withdrawing cash from an ATM. But did you know that if you use a card for all three purposes, you could well be charged three different rates of interest What s more, if you do not clear your balance in full each month, your monthly repayments will probably go towards paying off the cheapest debt first, leaving you accruing interest at the highest rate. cic credit monitoring service

For example, say you had a card which charged interest at 5% for balance transfers, 15% for purchases and 25% for cash withdrawals; you transferred a debt of 1, 000 over from another card, made purchases totalling 500 and withdrew 200 from a cashpoint. In total you owe 1, 700 but you can t afford to pay it all off at once so you just repay 100 a month. That money will, more than likely, go towards paying the transferred balance off first. Once that has been cleared you will start repaying the debt from the purchases and finally you will repay the 200 you took out of an ATM. ccs credit division service

By applying this strategy your card provider maximises the interest it earns from you. You should therefore only use a credit card for one purpose to avoid being charged interest at different rates. However, this isn t always as straight forward as it seems, particularly as many deals encourage customers to use the card in a number of ways. credit service union worker

Card providers try to attract new customers with enticing offers such as interest-free periods which often apply to both purchases and balance transfers. If you see such a deal, check how long the introductory period lasts for. 1st credit service union

For example, Halifax has an online offer on its One card: new customers can take advantage of a 12-month interest-free period on both transfers and purchases. In this case, it is fine to use the card for spending on as well as making a balance transfer, because the interest-free periods run for the same length of time. However, if the 0% deals expire on different dates you should only use the card for a single purpose. card chase credit customer

Virgin

, for example, has a 0% offer on balance transfers and purchases, but the introductory offer lasts for 15 months on balance transfers - the longest interest-free period on the market - and only three months on purchases. So, if you used the card for both spending and moving a debt over from another card, you would start accruing interest on the cost of the purchases from the fourth month. Virgin s standard rate of interest for purchases is 15.9%. This card should therefore only be used for balance transfers. card chase credit service

You should never use a credit card to make cash withdrawals. Not only are you likely to be charged a very high rate of interest, but you will incur other charges such as a handling fee. You also start accruing interest immediately. If you make a purchase with a credit card, you will not be charged interest if you repay the balance in full within a certain amount of time - typically 56 days. With cash advances you start paying interest from day one. citi credit monitoring service

It is well worth reading the terms and conditions of a credit card before you start using it to make sure you understand how the provider s payment allocation system works. There are a few firms, including Nationwide building society and Saga, which clear the most expensive debt first, but the vast majority work the other way around: the ill-informed could therefore end up paying significantly more interest than they were expecting. credit plus service union

Why carry Credit Cards when you can use Obopay Credit cards allow people to purchase items immediately, and pay for them later. Instead of having money removed directly from a bank account, as is the case with debit cards, a credit card purchase is paid for by the credit card issuer and the credit card holder pays back the issuer in full at the end of the month, or with interest added minimal monthly payments. Also, responsible use of credit cards helps in building a good credit history, which aids in attaining loans, insurance, and other important services from financial institutions.
