Appalachian Trail - National Scenic Trail Hiking Maps Appalachian National Scenic Trail Hiking Maps

The Appalachian Trail traverses the Appalachian Mountain Range for over 2, 100 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. This well-maintained National Scenic Trail winds its way through fourteen eastern states (Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine) almost entirely on protected public lands. The way is marked by more than 82, 000 blazes, and 265 shelters offer convenient places to spend the night. card credit service wireless

As the first national scenic trail, originally envisioned back in the Great Depression, the captured the popular imagination and sparked the birth of several other long hiking trails throughout the United States. The AT is now used by day-hikers, backpackers, and thru-hikers who travel the entire trail in a single season. Some estimates claim that over 4 million people hike or walk on some part of the AT every year, although the total who have completed the entire distance is obviously far fewer. There are also countless trails that access the AT from multiple trailheads along the way. credit security service union

On Trails.com you will find every segment of the Appalachian Trail in every state it runs through, and each Appalachian Trail map is accompanied by a detailed route description, including driving directions to both ends of the segment, along with a host of additional materials. credit report service
