Author:
Larry Edwards "A slow week for angling activity in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Still, those who ventured out were generally rewarded with some good action. Captain Jose Vargas on the "La Bamba" was the hot boat for the week, leading Texas Angler, Mathew Dear to a 3 sailfish day and Angler Patrick Holway to a 2 sailfish day. Captain Jose also landed a nice 25 lb. wahoo for angler Antonio Gomez. Captain Cheve, aboard the "Dos Hermanos II", fishing with angler Paul Patrick, landed 3 roosterfish and 1 yellowtail jack. Fishing offshore with Felipe Washington, Captain Cheve landed 2 sailfish for a 1-day trip. Captain Luis of the "Gran Jefe", fished 2 days with anglers Jean Pascal and Angel Prado, landing 1 roosterfish, 9 bonitos and 4 needlefish. The duo had many more shots at roosterfish but were unsuccessful in landing them. Several other boats reported good action on wahoo and the "Duquesa" reported losing a nice blue marlin."
