Muskego Powers Local Government's Web Site and Search Capabilities
Credit Pacific Service Union By WTN News • 02/23/04 Muskego, Wis - The City of Muskego, Wis., has enhanced its search capabilities on both the City's internal intranet site and their public Web site. The city selected a software application from ISYS Software, an Australian software company specializing in knowledge management and information delivery search solutions for business and government.
Prior to choosing ISYS, the City evaluated more than a dozen vendors over a three-year period. By implementing ISYS, the City of Muskego now offers its citizens and visitors a powerful tool for quickly searching and browsing a variety of public documents, from minutes and resolutions to information about Municipal Codes or Parks and Recreation. Likewise, City employees will leverage ISYS' sixth-generation information retrieval technology to search more than 70,000 documents within its intranet.
"The City of Muskego is dedicated to ensuring our citizens and employees have quick and convenient access to a wealth of information, whether it's a citizen interested in city ordinances or a staff member researching procedural documentation," said Joseph Sommers, Director of Information Systems, City of Muskego.
ISYS:web offers the City of Muskego Web site an intranet search solution that ensures users can quickly search, sort and navigate results. Users can search everything from standard HTML, PDF files, Office documents, emails, databases and more. In addition to using ISYS to sort results by date, relevance or hit count, users can also leverage ISYS' Hit Highlighting and Hit-To-Hit Navigation features to quickly and easily locate the information that is most relevant to them.
